How we handle your data, what stays anonymous, and your rights.

salaryband is built to respect your privacy. When you run the free benchmark, we store the inputs you enter (such as role, tier, experience, city segment, and salary) anonymously, to improve the accuracy of our compensation model. These inputs are not linked to your identity: we do not collect your name, email, IP address, or any identifier alongside them, and they cannot be traced back to you. We collect data that identifies you only when you purchase the Action Pack.
Mahananda Traders, a sole proprietorship registered in Nagpur, Maharashtra, India is the Data Fiduciary responsible for personal data collected through the Site, and determines the purposes and means of processing it. Our handling of personal data is intended to align with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the SPDI Rules, 2011, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, as applicable and as their rules come into force.
Free benchmark: we store the inputs you enter (role, tier, experience, city segment, salary, and your computed percentile) as an anonymous record to improve our benchmarks. We do not require an account, name, or email, and we do not store any identifier (no email, IP address, or session link) alongside this data. It exists only as an unlinked market observation.
When you purchase the Action Pack: to deliver your Report and provide support, we store the benchmark result associated with your purchase, your payment identifiers (order and payment IDs from Razorpay), and the email address you provide at checkout.
Payment identifiers and the associated email and transaction details we store may constitute Sensitive Personal Data or Information under the SPDI Rules, 2011. We collect such information only for the lawful, specific purpose of delivering and supporting the Action Pack, and only to the extent necessary for that purpose. We do not store your full card or bank details: those are handled entirely by Razorpay.
We collect this data based on your consent, which you provide electronically at checkout (by agreeing to our Terms and Privacy Policy before payment). By providing this consent, you authorise us to collect, store, and process your email and transaction details for the purposes described here. You may withdraw consent or request deletion as described below; withdrawing consent may affect our ability to provide support for a past purchase.
We use the data above only to: deliver your Action Pack; restore your access if a delivery issue occurs; honour our 90-day upgrade commitment; respond to support and grievance requests; and improve the accuracy of our compensation model in aggregate. We do not sell your personal data.
We rely on Razorpay (payment processing) and infrastructure providers (hosting and database). By using the Services, you consent to the disclosure of your transaction data to these partners solely to process payments and deliver the Services. These partners process data on our behalf under their own security and confidentiality commitments and are not permitted to use it for unrelated purposes. We do not otherwise disclose your personal data except where required by law.
We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate, anonymous traffic patterns (how many people visit, which pages they view, and where they arrive from) so we can improve the product. Google Analytics uses cookies and may collect technical data such as your approximate location, device, browser, and on-site behaviour. This is used only in aggregate to measure and improve the Service; it is separate from the anonymous benchmark data described above and is not used to identify you personally. You can opt out using browser settings or Google's opt-out tools.
We implement reasonable security practices and procedures commensurate with the nature of the data we hold, including access controls on our database and reliance on encrypted, reputable infrastructure and payment providers. This is consistent with Section 43A of the Information Technology Act, 2000. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take protection of your data seriously.
We retain purchase-related data for as long as needed to provide support, honour our upgrade commitment, and meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations. You may request deletion of data that we are not required to retain by law.
You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about your purchase, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (subject to legal retention requirements), by emailing mahanandatraders2021@gmail.com. We will respond to reasonable requests in line with applicable Indian data protection law.
